I thought it would be a good way to begin the new year by blogging about one of my favourite weddings of last year– August 31st with Annie and Kai. When I first met them they were still looking for the perfect place to bring their closest friends and family from all over the world together to celebrate their union with some excellent food in some spectacular Canadian scenery. There are some venues from which you can view nature and some in which you are really in it. I recommended they take a trip up to Green Water Resort where I had been once before and see how they felt among the mountains and towering cottonwood trees. I was so happy for them– the sun shone as they exchanged vows on the soft sand of the riverbank and they danced beneath a sky full of stars. There was an incredible warmth in the reception tent where everyone, wrapped in blankets after a delicious family style meal, glowed with what was said.
