Katie & Paul

Two Sunshine Coast weddings back to back! Well that’s how it went. This one was set on private property which has been in the bride’s family for a long long time—we knew we were in the right place when street names became family names! The overcast skies gave us some nice soft light for portraits out on the rocky beaches mid day, and the rain held long enough for the ceremony to take place on a beautiful point out into the water without the bridal party having to be covered. Cocktail hour was dry too. It only started to precipitate once everyone was safely under the reception tent, and Katie was able to make some use of her custom designed (she even started the knitting!) pink cardigan. Note the West coast tradition of putting a broom in a tree to hold off rain in the frame below of the bride and groom talking—Jules pointed this out to me—I had never heard of this, but did wonder why there was a broom in a tree when the rest of the property was so immaculately maintained. melissa Love your work! Great images 🙂

Kristi Gorgeous and unique couple. Did you notice the broom in the tree behind them in one of the pics?

Jessie Great shots! I especially like the ones of the bride and her mom seeing each other — great moment. And I am naturally intrigued by this broom-in-tree tradition….

Camilla Either Jules is well versed on West Coast tradition (re:the brooms), or he watches “rich bride, poor bride” like Katie and I do!
