sunset and a minor flesh wound

Yesterday Vancouver was miserable; we had cold dark rain all day until just before sunset something changed, and all of a sudden there were photographer stirrings on gmail and google reader about the beautiful sky. This is how it came through in my dining room. Since I’ve only recently acquired a kitchen table and a room to put it in, I’ve taken to buying fresh flowers to set on it. It’s something I could get used to.

This morning I got my first little hand rip from doing pull-ups at Crossfit. When I first started Crossfit in September I couldn’t do any pull-ups, but now I can do six in rapid succession without falling off the bar. I have also upped my man-style pushups from 4 to 17. I haven’t really lost any weight, but I’m probably gaining muscle, and I am, after all, still eating a lot of chocolate. If you don’t mind suffering, being told what to do, and you are a little competitive, you may want to check it out.

James Ouch. I feel the need to scroll up and look at the marvelous sunset again. Nice chandelier!
