Angela and Steve were married at Redwoods Golf Course in Langley, but we did photos first in Fort Langley. And yes, after two different location scouting adventures to Fort Langley (far) I now know there is an actual fort (!) complete with an imposing fence and tents and old buildings. This wedding was unique for me in that I knew all of the brides maids and even the makeup artist, the fabulous Ai Nagasawa (who does hair and makeup AND travels to your location). Not to mention Anna Lung who provided the lovely florals! PS, the bride’s maids’ dresses (which were comfy and had pockets) were from Forever 21! I still have never been there, but I loved the dresses– no adjusting or stuffing necessary. 😉

This was my first ever all-granville-island wedding. The ceremony was held near the water and behind a hill which offered some privacy, and the reception was conveniently a minute’s walk away at the Peformance Works Theatre which was a blank, black canvas for Tara’s vision (check out the curtained dance space at the end of the post!). You will probably not be surprised that she is an interior designer! I was very pleased that Tara and Alex agreed to slip out for an hour of portraits during cocktail hour when the sun was a little lower in the sky, and we had a great time running (literally) around Granville Island in white and black crocs. It was a pleasure working with Corinne of DreamGroup Productions and also, as always, Erik Andersen of Love Story Media, who was in charge of cinema and did a particularly brilliant same day edit which was enjoyed immensely at during the reception.

Joon and Ross had a lovely kilts & beach wedding at the Beach House Restaurant at Dundarave pier in West Vancouver. This restaurant has a fantastic covered patio on the upper floor with ocean views, perfect for intimate summer weddings.
