Aileen & Richard

This wedding was a most excellent ending to my 2012 season. It was my first time photographing a wedding reception in the Pacific Ballroom at the Hotel Vancouver and I can’t wait to return. It was the perfect golden setting for a warm and elegant evening. The flash mob and traditional Filipino dancing were the icing. And as always, it was my great pleasure to work along side the extraordinary wedding and event planner Alicia Keats. The bride’s hair and makeup was styled by Jayna Marie and her earrings and hair piece were by Elsa Corsi (including the lavender Swarovski crystal friendship bracelets for the bridesmaids.) Flowers by Granville Island Florist.

Sarah & Geoff

Not every day do you get to be a part of a directional blessing by a Salish elder in a beautiful candlelit Spanish Ballroom of the Hotel Georgia. What a beautiful end to our year! Thanks to Alicia Keats for her excellent planning and managing, Michelle Davidson for a meaningful ceremony, Elsa Corsi for Sarah’s sparkly accessories, Jayna Marie Makeup and Hair, Balconi Floral and Upright Decor. (Oh, and Vera Wang, good work, too.)

Stephanie & Blake

The rain was no damper for the vibrant green and pink Vancouver Club wedding of Stephanie and Blake last July. I had such fun literally running around with them in the downtown drizzle, releasing their silver date balloons.

Jodie & Matt elope!

I was in touch by email with Jodie and Matt for the better part of a year before they were able to come all the way from Australia and elope to Vancouver (I’m not really sure about the grammar around eloping to/from, but I hope it’s clear enough.) The week before the wedding Jodie went and bought a dress in town and on the way to the ceremony she stopped and picked up a bouquet. They let me choose the spot– I suggested they go check out Lighthouse Park in West Van. They said they wanted to keep it a surprise and preferred to just trust me. They arrived in a car with a driver and Jodie put on some flip flops for a walk into the forest until they were too anxious to go any further and we all stopped at Songbird Meadow in the middle of the park and they were married by Marilyn Knipp. It was an honour for Jules and I to sign as witnesses and we spent the next couple of golden hours taking photos around the park before dropping them off to their wedding dinner at Hawksworth. It was a perfect day.

Nicole & Kenndal

You may remember Nicole & Kenndal’s engagement session which had me very excited for their Brock House wedding coordinated by Jessica Minnie of Petite Pearl Events. I hope some of these photos represent just a bit of the warmth and affection circulating that beautiful afternoon.
