Carly & Steve

It has been very difficult to know exactly what to post from Carly and Steve’s incredible June wedding at the UBC Boathouse, so I am posting a link to their slideshow here.

They are both creative and gorgeous people—who were willing to climb steep embankments and ladders on our portrait session, making me both very happy and very nervous. Wherever we went they just seemed to see what I was seeing and jumped into the scene—or onto the ladder! I don’t recommend that everyone try this—Carly for one has actual trapeze training, and I think Steve must have done stunt work at some point, judging from his visit to the photobooth we set up during the reception! It was lots of fun shooting with friend Amish Solanki who usually shoots stills but was in this case flexing his cinematographic (is that a word?) muscles –and thanks go to his wife Natisha who found us shooting in the hot field and brought us all bottles of water!! Please check out the list of Carly and Steve’s fabulous vendors at the bottom of this post, and again, their slideshow for more photos.

Rima Hello from the UK, I just came across your site, I had to stop to say how inspirational your photography is!

Emily Porter Wow. This is one of the best – if not THE best – sets of wedding photos I have ever seen. Really truly breathtaking work.

Erik You are unbelievable. Luckily there is a three letter word for this. Wow. How do you come up with this stuff?

Jessie Melia, you’ve got fans! And rightfully so. Beautiful pics of a beautiful couple on what was obviously a beautiful day. I’m especially fond of the embankment shots and the light on those. There’s one of the bride just kind of enveloped in this warm halo of light that is particularly captivating for me. But as your fans have already said over and over again, they’re all fabulous — as per usual (-:

Robyn Ross So what magazine is this spread going to be in? Haven’t ever seen one this grand in any of them and I’m always reading all of them for my job.

These really should be published in wedding magazines.

Sarah @ Cable Car Couture Oh my goodness! These shots are unbelievable! The bride is so old Hollywood glamour. Give me more! The red, the black and white, the gown, the pose — is she a model? Cuz she sure knows how to move in front of a camera! And the red. Yes, the red…

Chris Funk Stumbled on this in google, great pics. I’m out of BeautyMark in yaletown now 🙂
